24.09.05 Carmarthen Town 1 Port Talbot 1
A late, late equaliser from substitute Mattie Davies gave a depleted Carmarthen Town a share of the points that saw visitors Port Talbot notch up their fifth draw of the current campaign. With Town failing to make any impression during the first period Dean Johnson’s strike for the visitors early in the second period galvanised the hosts into action.
With Town much changed due to the unavailability through injury and suspension of five squad members new signing Saad Essa made his debut on the right as Town produced a disjointed first period that saw keeper Tony Pennock saving well at the feet of Johnson to deny the Steelmen an opener.
Town showed more purpose in the second period. Danny Thomas looked to break the deadlock early on but it was Johnson who latched on to Rhys Griffiths’ through ball and chipped Pennock to give the visitors the lead.
The goal seemed to galvanise the hosts and with Sasha Walters looking lively Town pressurised the visitors with former Town keeper Gareth Williams forced into several saves in the away goal to deny the equaliser.
With the game deep into injury time, following considerable stoppage time due to an injury to Leigh DeVulgt, the equaliser looked elusive but with Town pressing forward following Pennock’ s howitzer of a free kick ultimately found Davies’ who's attempt at an overhead kick found the corner of Williams' net and Town grabbed a late equaliser that gave them some recompense for their second half endeavour and denied Port Talbot their first three pointer of the season.
A naturally delighted Mark Jones said: “ The players deserved something from the game after working so hard for the whole of the ninety plus minutes. It says a lot for the character of the team to score so late in the game.”

18.09.05 TNS 4 Carmarthen Town 1 With the dismissal of Richard Carter on 25' Town faced an uphill struggle against League Champions TNS. Early Town pressure boded well for the visitors but with the hosts enjoying numerical superiority for most of the game Marc Lloyd Williams converted the early penalty and went on to notch up his hat trick.
John Toner's effort just before the break doubled the score and put the hosts in the driving seat at the half way mark and with TNS collecting all three points they regained top spot.
Mattie Davies converted Sasha Walters' neat back heal for a late goal but it was little consolation for the Richmond Park outfit who had looked to continue their recent run of good form.

10.09.05 Carmarthen Town 2 Welshpool Town 0
With Carmarthen Town’s line-up somewhat rearranged the hosts notched up their second 2-0 win in five days with goals either side of the break securing a deserved win for the Richmond Park outfit.
The first came on the stroke of half time (43') as Mark Dodds stabbed the ball home following a goalmouth scramble to give Town a 1-0 mid way lead.
Following the break Martyn Giles put the hosts firmly in control when he glanced home Gary Lloyd's cross, following a short corner, on 54 minutes as Town went on to secure a full quota of points that sees them move up into fourth position.
The visitors however provided an early scare when Calvin Davies and Steve Rogers broke well from defence and Geraint Winsor was ruled offsideshot as his shot ricocheted off the crossbar.
For Town Luke Hardy’s free kick eluded the Welshpool defence and needing only the slightest of touches to convert but the visitors were very fortunate to survive when Danny Thomas latched on to a through ball and Winsor was forced to clear his own line. Town finally made the breakthrough when Welshpool failed to clear another Hardy free kick and Dodds capitalised in the melee.
Following the break visiting keeper Danny Jones made an excellent save from Lloyd’s free kick at the expense of a corner but, from the resulting set piece, Giles caught the visiting defence napping with his glancing header to put Town further ahead.
Welshpool looked to reduce the deficit and it was Lloyd who was perfectly positioned to clear Justin Wickham’s effort but only a superb fingertip save from Pennock denied Kenny Burgess. With Mattie Davies blasting over when well placed late on Town took a deserved three points.

04.09.05 Carmarthen Town 1 Caernarfon Town 1
Town started their 2005/6 home campaign with a disappointing draw against their North Wales visitors . It was also Town's first game played in front of the new stand which marks another step towards Town’s goal to achieve the UEFA ground standard.
Town dominated the opening exchanges creating several opportunities and capitalise in the 12th minute when Rhodri Jones bravely headed Town into the lead. Aanother goal at this stage would probably have made the game safe but the important second strike was elusive and Town were eventually made to pay for their failure in front of goal when Marcus Orlick nodded home the equaliser for the visitorsin the 70th minute after Tony Pennock had made a fine save but was beaten by the rebound effort.
Manager Mark Jones was rightly disappointed at the end of the game but was upbeat about the performance, “ We created at least 10 chances but unfortunately only scored one goal. The football up to the box was very pleasing and hopefully we will strike form in front of goal before long”
