14.02.09 Carmarthen Town 3 Bangor City 1
A delighted Town coach Mark Aizlewood told 'Y Dre ar Y We', "I'm Absolutely delighted. I thought we got our just reward, we thoroughly deserved the win. We are now one point in front of them(Bangor) with a game in hand. We move on, we can't gloat on today's result we'll say fair play to them they made a fist of it. But we now need to get a result at Caersws next week otherwise its all for nothing".
"Even when it was eleven v eleven I thought they were a little bit fortunate to be 1-0 up. They did have a threat from set plays so we had to mindful of the fact that even when you go down to ten men you still retain that threat from set plays".
"I thought we dominated it. Sharpe looked lively, quite obviously he's got twenty goals now, before he went off with a nasty injury. But from our point of view we made a tactical change at half time which I thought was key. We sacrificed a midfield player as we felt we needed people further forward. We made a second change with 20 minutes to go moving Krisy Thomas into the middle of our defence pushing Richard to the right. And that proved to be a crucial decision as well."
"Craig Hughes, his goals are first class. He's got seven for us now in five games, he's a very good signing for us. His predatory instinct in front of goal is an absolute bonus. Its also nice to have a strong bench as we did today. I think that's vital especially against the top teams in the league."
